This incredible performance DVD was recorded in front of a packed house of adoring fans at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood, California on January 21, 2007. Mike Love of the Beach Boys made a surprise appearance, and Donovan’s daughter Astrella Celeste performed alongside her father. It was truly a magical night! He still has his voice! Amazingly, he sounds exactly like he did 40 years ago…
Ahhh YEah.
Donovan and friends at El Rey Theatre March 19th, 2010. DLF . TV for information
I like this. I’d so love to go to one of his shows. He’s such a cool guy.
nice!
If anyone can drop names, it’s Donovan. He was a true innovator and influenced the Beatles and other artists of his time as much as they influenced him. He blossomed with his time and blossomed his time. He’s beyond category.
Donovan was concurrent with the Beatles. I had Donovan albums before the Beatles. Their music was different. Donovan was more comparable with Dylan. All their paths crossed as stars coincidentally. I heard Donovan on a local radio station here in L.A. live with is daughter–it sounded say, like, folk Scottish. His daughter even danced after being asked, clopping around–2009. She played and sang too–beautifully.
Beatles and Don yeah, but David Lynch?…..On another note, somehow I just don’t think of this as “bragging “. I found it very heartwarming, and it was cool to hear him talking about India, and the very cool verse that Harrison wrote. I don’t like the Maharishi, but I still dig Donovan. “THE PHENOMENON OF DONOVAN!!”
like dewey cox
Donovan fathered many children of which he was unaware till years later.
Honestly he would of never gotten to where he is without the Beatles. Thats why he needs to always brag about he went to india with them and helped write yellow submarine. If he didnt he would of just been another hippy with a guitar and people would of forgotten about him. But i am a huge Donovan fan but you really have to thank the Beatles for his success
Where does anyone get that Donovan abandoned his kids?? What the f…? Donovan rocks.
@durgaaa That’s exactly what I’m saying, he doesn’t need to rabbit on about knowing the Beatles and Dylan etc, he is great in his own right.
Too bad you abandoned your children, you dead-beat dad.
@birdstuck’s “sad video” comment—-see the durgaa first post. We’ll see how you feel after a 40 year span since your fabulous hits were the soundtrack of a generation.
Bull shit. Your perception needs cleaning. You show no concept of the uniqueness of the 60′ and 70’s. Poor thing.
@2ladiesfreddy; and his prefered pastry no doubt
what’s wrong with talking about other people in a respective manner, Donovan is one with the world , you are me , I am you , this is the filosofy .
He’s aged well. Glad to see he’s still performed. Thanks for posting this video.
i just met donovan about 30 mins ago….hes my friends grandfather…played with him…fucking amazing, said im good aswell
you make alot of sense and i agree with you on a level. i still enjoy the song. But cna’t you say bob dylan is the same way with the no more creations of music.
so true
right on man.
I see your point and I think it’s probably true to a point.
But then again, if you hung out with the Beatles, wouldn’t you mention it now and then?
I think what he is saying is that when people come together, that something beautiful, something extra, can happen… not that he’s trying to trade in,,, whatever
it’s like a recipe for simple abundance.
it is so easy to lose the essence attained in meditation
to be misunderstood when speaking of love
