Space Station Silicon Valley Game Sample – N64
Apr 9th, 2010 by MrCult
Space Station Silicon Valley is one of the most unique games you’ll find on the N64, and funny too! It’s one of those cult classics that take you by surprise once you get past the visuals. You play as two heroes-for-hire, Dan and Evo, who get a job to retrieve a platoon of space marines and Professor Cheese who are feared to be dead inside of a space station full of robot animals lost in space. However, due to the two heroes arguing about which radio station to listen to, they end up screwing each other over and crash landing into the station. The impact kills one of two lovers (the dog, the sheep is fine) and destroys Evo’s body (from ejecting), scattering it across the station. The only part of Evo that remains is his data chip, which can jack into any animals you come across. Dan makes you take control of Evo to get energy cells and the parts of his body back so they can get back to the task at hand: investigating the station. Using Evo’s chip to possess fallen animals that possess different characteristics is a very fun and interesting concept. The game gets repetitive after a while, but the premise is very good and there is enough variety between what can be used and the various gimmicks within the levels to have a good time for quite some time. This game was also ported to the PS1 about two years later under the name of “Evo’s Space Adventures”, but it’s not as good. Enjoy.
