Dorin Liviu Zaharia (b. 1944; d. 1987) was one of the most interesting figures of the 1960s and ’70s Romanian pop music scene. He was probably the first Romanian musician interested in mixing Romanian folklore with Indian music. He sang with the band Olympic ‘64, developing a sound and attitude that were in contrast to the communist regime’s commandments. He wrote, along with Dan Andrei Aldea, the music for several Romanian movies, such as the cult movies Filip cel Bun, Duhul Aurului and Nunta de piatră (dir. by Dan Piţa and Mircea Veroiu). He also wrote with the Olympic ‘64 members the rock suites Decameronul focului alb and Karma Kaliyuga. He also acted in some of the movies for which he wrote the music. He was a close friend of Ioan Culianu.

Imi aduc aminte de omagiul adus de Radu Teodor si Andrei Voiculescu la microfonul Europei Libere la moartea lui.

Mai exista, cred, o alta melodie remarcabila ” Ziua Bradului de noapte”…

din pacate foarte putine informatii despre omul acesta. ma intrebam daca or exista pe undeva inregistrrile din club a de la inceputul anilor 70. am vazut doar niste fragmente video (fara sonor) pe tvr si atat. este mare pacat ca s-a pierdut asa ceva. la radio 3 net am mai gasit doar niste piese de pe nunta de piatra si cam atat. oricum, felicitari pt postare
