A lot of people join cults because they can’t stand taking charge of thier own life. Giving up control over your life is like giving up responsibility. If you don’t have control over your life, how are you responsible.
Jonestown wasn’t anything good and I do not think that people aren’t responsible for what happened. All the parents of those children are doubly damned in my opinion.

I get a little impatient with people who don’t understand that every socialist experiment goes sour. The whole Jonestown-meant-to-be-good-but-turned-out-bad nonsense is really getting old.

Jim Jones was blessed with the gift of charisma. That blessing was a curse for others.
