Sect leader convicted on three counts

A Taos jury found the religious sect leader guilty Monday (Dec. 15) of three out of four counts accusing him of fondling and lying naked with two teenage girls in 2006. Wayne Bent, 67, was convicted of two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and one count of criminal sexual contact with a minor. He will be sentenced Dec. 29 and could face as much as 15 years in prison.
