Similarities Between Watchtower Control & Controlling Governments

While watching an old government film on the dangers of despotism I quickly became aware of some similarities with religious control. Here are some edited excerpts from the film, along with some very clear parallels in the form of written quotations from the literature of Jehovahs Witnesses.

Did Jehovah mean dont eat in acts 15.vs 20, and 15 .vs. 29?
The best possible way to find out what is meant is to look at the original Greek.
The words translated abstain in the NWT & NRSV is [apechomai] and it appears 6 times in the Greek NT these are ..Acts 15.20&291 thes 4.31 thes 5.221 tim 4.31 pet 2.11
So what do the experts say this word means

To hold oneself from, to keep oneself from, in the NT refers to evil, moral or ceremonial.
{When was eating ever evil or immoral? & the only use of ceremonial food in the Christian cong was the memorial; I dont think the writer of acts wanted us to abstain from that do you?]

{Sound like eating to you?] Interestingly this exact same word is used in the Septuagint

Additional info ..the Greek word for eat is ethio it appears in the NT 67 times in 57 verses [once in the book of acts]
The Greek word for drink is pino appears 73 times in 64 verses [three times in the book of acts]
Last point .NRSV Greek interlinear UBS 4th ed based upon Nestle aland 27th ed novum textum greace renders acts 15.20-29 this way keep away from blood now the words for eat &drink appear NOWERE in this chapter ,so can a person who accepts this translation say they are keeping FAR AWAY FROOM BLOOD ,if they have a transfusion ?

So basically science has made it so you can take a banana milk shake and separate it into it’s individual ingredients.
It’s okay to have bananas, milk, ice, and ice cream in separate parts, but it’s not okay to have a whole banana milk shake stirred up.
But also, it has been okay to have little itty bitty sips of the whole shake (i.e. eating non-kosher/halal meat).

At last weeks meeting we spoke about the ministry, our fellow Brother said “do you think I like going out knocking on peoples doors? no but I do it because it is a command from Jehovah! It is absolute truth that blood is forbidden in the Bible, the fact is that as science has given a new understanding of the components of Blood it is therefore a conscious matter for the individual whether or not they believe the component is plasma or not. This is truth not just myth as people might assume
Oh dear, the JW’s are far from controlling. Every time I sit down at my meetings with my fellow Brothers and Sisters I don’t think the ability to control people is within their hearts and minds. The society search for truth and have an eagerness to serve YHWH, I know all the history and I still believe we have the closest thing to truth on this earth.

Dear Cindy, At what point did the people at Jonestown give up their right to free will? Do you think there was a black and white clearly defined line that they crossed willingly? Jim Jones isolated them physically. The Organization isolates ones Psychology, but there is danger just the same. I get the feeling that you have never spent a lot of time around the most loyal of witnesses, some of the things you’ve said indicate that you are in a area that is liberal. That is good for you. ES

When it came to talking about the blood issue, and really I realized while talking with this very pleasant gentleman (JW), we both couldn’t see in the Scriptures exactly where it said it’s okay to take a little blood (i.e. in non-Kosher/Halal meat) but not okay to take a lot of blood.
Seriously, if you want to see me rant (and I think I have on my videos, haha) about something, get me to talk about the refusal of blood, but the fact it’s okay to eat non-Kosher/Halal meat…

Knocking on doors to spread a general message is easy, but when a precise and direct question is asked, JWs will go around for hours and never answer clearly. I had one in my home. He gave me headaches in speaking for up tu 2 hours instead of just answering. I can understand how you people brainwash others by driving their minds numb with hundreds of vain dizzying words.
There is nothing secretive about Jehovah’s witnesses!
