People shouldn’t blindly follow leaders of any church or organization. There is an evil force at work, working towards the demise of the blind. Wake up and be careful who you follow. The blind will only be led into the ditch by their blind leaders.
Being forced to confess to “fabricated crimes” is exactly what happens in Orwell’s “Animal Farm”. In Animal Farm, various animals are murdered upon “confessing” to crimes they never committed against their leader. It’s so creepy that people do things like this.
Yeah, I don’t think you can be legally persued unless there is a crime committed. I have known plenty of people who were in religious groups that fall into the cult catagory, but until someone presses charges for fraud, unless someone reports a murder, unless someone proves that it is more than just devotees choosing to give up their lives to the cult, simply being a mentally manipulative leader doesn’t constitute a crime. If it did, most bosses would also be in jail.
IMO, that is the first red flag – verticle-marketing style pressure to bring in more members. A legitimate spiritual quest does not involve being pulled in or pulling others in, and a true spiritual master does not depend on size to validate their teachings.
o.0 I don’t think that’s true(in Canada, anyways).
Only if the leader is indicted.
its not illegal to be in a cult it only is illegal to be the leader of a cult…
they wudnt allow me to join in activities to punish me for being disobedient. well being me i questioned even more. i realised some christians are elitist and some are genuine. it was difficult to sort out the genuine from the elitist so i chose ‘understanding’ as a better form of religion
recruitment..ah, yes i remember being told ‘It is your job to get more people into the church’.
my mouth said ‘uh-huh’ but my brain said oh no its not it is nobody’s job. people are free to come and go. when i spoke my mind i was warned that i will be banned from the church if i questioned god or jesus.
