CULTS: DANGEROUS DEVOTION pt. 2
Feb 1st, 2010 by MrCult
Part 2 of 10 Journey behind closed doors into a secret world where faith and devotion lead to desperation and despair. From the bizarre prophecies of Charles Manson to the desperate paranoia of Jim Jones, cult leaders draw followers into worlds of power, paranoia, and death. Why do people join? Why do they stay? And how can we stop them? Through interviews with world-renowned scholars and the survivors of cultic tragedy, DANGEROUS DEVOTION unmasks the mystery of cults. Meet survivors of modern-day cults and true believers who still number among the faithful. Hear from mothers and fathers who have lost a child to a cult and observe FBI agents working to identify exploitative groups that endanger individuals or even the entire nation. And delve through history to examine how cults have seized hearts and minds throughout time. CULTS: DANGEROUS DEVOTION is a truly eye-opening examination of a world that few of us will ever see, but that potentially affects us all. Just some of the charismatic leaders and cults examined in DANGEROUS DEVOTION are: * Charles Manson * Jim Jones and Jonestown Warren Jeffs and the Yearning for Zion Ranch * Shoko Asahara and Aum Shinrikyo * David Koresh and the Branch Davidians * The Nizari, the drug-fueled assassins from the time of the Crusades

@candiceevans1
People care because such believes and faith is all what is needed for someone to hijack them and try to take advantage of people, as these guys do. Is better to be rational and have as much control of yourself as you can.
HAHAHHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
@candiceevans1 excuse me but i think u are mistaken regarding ur theory of a rich man not being a christian, please read the book of job in the bible.
@candiceevans1 exactly my brother/sister whichever you are…………….but church is important after all it was created by god
@candiceevans1 so true
God is only as real as the men who created him.
no.
Agree. Thanks.
It seems like churches that do belief in it seem closer to God though?
It may still be a vaild gift. But I do not believe it should be the focal point of a church or belief system. It is states as “the least of the gifts” but churches that practice it seem to often let it take them over.
candiceevans1, as an atheist I have no problem with other people believeing what they choose. My parents are devout Christians as is my brothers family and we get along just fine.
But when someone asks me what I believe I tell them I’m an atheist and they get nasty or call me stupid….then I get nasty right back.
Also, when religion starts flying planes into buildings, I’ve got to stand up and denounce them. I would hope others would understand my position.
anyone believe in speaking in tounges?
ha I wish there was just an answer.
u dont need to follow a priest/preachr u can read about Jesus and pray to him by yourself,,,no christian needs a church to be a christian,,,men have manipulated religion because they know people love christ so much that theyll lay down their lives,,,Jesus has been with me thru everything I have ever gone thru,,,if you dont know christ… try it you have nothing to lose and everything to gain,,,yr relationship with christ is a personl thing anyway.
read the new testament and how Jesus conducted himself and you see a man who had integrity, courage, compassion, love for all people, he hung w the criminals, the worst people b/c that is who needed him most, he picked 12 outcasts, he kicked the money changers out of the temple kicked their shit over and told them they were hypocrits, a brood of vipers, he healed the sick, fed the hungry and saved us all its good to emulate ,i love Jesus plz chek into it if u havent read about him
I never understand why Athiests are so nasty,,,if they dont believe it then why do they care what others believe,,,alot of time they are wrong a/b what christianity is b/c all theyve seen is hypocrits and tv preachers who are crooked. Any rich preacher isnt a real christian, any rich man isnt a real christian ,,,anyone who tells u you must go to church is a liar, christianity is about following the teachings of Jesus u cant go wrong there god or man he was a good dude and a rebel 2me savior
what i dont get is why a person who believes in ideologies of nothing or essentially believe in nothing would care about what another person believes in. I can understand a christian or muslim wanting to convert another person our religions have goals of saving people but an athiest should just not give a damn and stfu if you believe in nothing then understand nothing is not gonna help anyone nothing is not gonna change the human condition nothing can do what it is nothing. or am i wrong.
true we can point fingers all day i was not trying to do that i was just saying that Athiest notions ideals or the political parties based on them have also been killers its like to coin and over used phrase people kill people. There is nothing else to blame for any of the worlds problems but the evil that lies in a minority of mens hearts and the cowardice that lies in the rest of our hearts that keeps us from stopping them.
What were those guys smoking lol, weird ass muthafucka’s.
Lol, that dude should be locked up in Pelican Bay.
And look at these Cult guys. Look at the KKK. We can play the same muthafucking game.
just dont teach it to your kids, its unfair
kids shouldnt be ushered into that shit!
you cannot be anymore wrong lol
i am a athiest and i am a cunt so ya i agree hahaha
whip?
“to you your religion and to me mine”
Surat disbelievers from the holy Qu’ran
Even the “supposed” religion of killing infidels does agree with your sentiments. But it is something that man does not truly feel. When we decide to believe something or not believe something we want everyone to do the same. Of course how you try to convince you neighbor to join your religion is up to you i like logic and reason and as such invite the world to Islam we will be happier with it.
