Feb 3rd, 2010 by MrCult
Part 3 of 10 Journey behind closed doors into a secret world where faith and devotion lead to desperation and despair. From the bizarre prophecies of Charles Manson to the desperate paranoia of Jim Jones, cult leaders draw followers into worlds of power, paranoia, and death. Why do people join? Why do they stay? And how can we stop them? Through interviews with world-renowned scholars and the survivors of cultic tragedy, DANGEROUS DEVOTION unmasks the mystery of cults. Meet survivors of modern-day cults and true believers who still number among the faithful. Hear from mothers and fathers who have lost a child to a cult and observe FBI agents working to identify exploitative groups that endanger individuals or even the entire nation. And delve through history to examine how cults have seized hearts and minds throughout time. CULTS: DANGEROUS DEVOTION is a truly eye-opening examination of a world that few of us will ever see, but that potentially affects us all. Just some of the charismatic leaders and cults examined in DANGEROUS DEVOTION are: * Charles Manson * Jim Jones and Jonestown Warren Jeffs and the Yearning for Zion Ranch * Shoko Asahara and Aum Shinrikyo * David Koresh and the Branch Davidians * The Nizari, the drug-fueled assassins from the time of the Crusades

This was a severely mentally deranged male, was it religion or drugs ? Religion was his excuse and his means, but the drugs are more than likely what caused the abuse. The bible tells you to remain sober, so it was not the bible he was reading, it was all on him, and followers of any religion should be reading for themselves and looking at history, and cultures surrounding what they are reading especially ancient texts that have been rewritten through other languages. Choose good over evil.
They went down with the Roman empire … and the source of authority and social cohesion become what we would later call the “early medieval age” … in which Roman laws were adapted to their tribal values … only with the Renaissance would the values of ancient Greece and Rome resurface again … thru the scrutiny of the Roman Catholic Church …
All but few European tribes from Celts to Macedonians were part of Roman Empire. Western Civilization equals to Roman Empire. All modern legal system derived entirely from the Roman law. The view that Christianity “revitalized” dying Roman Empire came from Christian historians and is totally incorrect. Christianity split the empire and caused the fall of Rome and isolation and ultimate demise of the Byzantine. Europe descended into the darkness of ignorance and religious fanaticism.
In the times when Christianity had began, there was no Western Civilization … in those days, excepting for the Romans and Greeks, all European peoples lived in tribes …
guyana that’s my country
Start a vampire or alien cult. I’d follow you.
LOL!!!
So true!!!
sounds pretty harsh to me lol
If at your age you still believe in Satan and other devils, monsters and zombies with red glowing eyes you really need to see a shrink. The only monsters are the delusional believes that make people to burn witches and fly airplanes into buildings. BTW I shouldn’t have compared religious people to rabid dogs. I beg all dogs and dog owners to forgive me for being so rude.
The evil monster being satan! He has you brainwashed!
Christianity was invented by the Jews to undermine the Roman Empire and Western civilization. It infected eventually entire world, bringing death and destruction – “holy” wars, crusades, inquisition, burning of “witches”, killing of “heretics” and persecution of science, trampling free thought and reason.
Even now, this evil monster still controls the feeble minded who spread superstition and lies like mangy rabid dogs that spread deadly infection drooling their poisonous saliva.
What?????????//
Same shit, I agree.
Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen. 15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned
Mark 16:14-16.
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Romans 10:9
Religion, Cult’s…..same Dif.
what nonsense is tha?t..Jesus said himself (the end of Mark) that his believers would be able to drink poison and it would not hurt them. Are you a cult member?
That’s true. Carter and his brother were given a million dollars and ordered to deliver it to the Soviet Embassy in Guyana. His wife and baby were murdered and he ended up ditching the suitcase with the money.
Some things wrong here Marshall Killduff was with New West magazine that did the expose in 1977. The Chronical and Les Kinsolving did the expose in 1972 and was protested by Jones as seen in the clip. The expose was pulled after three editions and the paper apologized.
According to, “The Children of Jonestown
by Kenneth Wooden,” Mr. Tim Carter not only believed in the movement, he was one of Jim Jones trusted aids.
Ok..Mr. Carter states he didn’t know Jim Jones was having sex with the members.
That’s not true. In the PBS special, “Jonestown: The Life and Death of Peoples Temple.” he stated that Jim came up to him and offered to have sex with him.
Another survior, Eugene Cordell states in the sermons that Jim Jones taught that everyone was homosexual. He (Jim) was the only true hetersexual.
Deborah Layton states that also.
Just wanted to clear that up.
that’s it – I am starting a cult!!! people are way too gullible and I would make millions……
The bible is a man made story like all religions are man made.
The Bible is the word of God through man. Of course man is gonna put all his idiotic laws inside.
