@sunglassesful-
Regarding the female inner circle & their responsibility – YES. Some women get off on powerful men. Carolyn Layton was every bit as sociopathic as Jones. Jones was a drug addict & his grip on reality was slipping. She knew every detail of Jones’ plans. Nothing happened in the PT without her ok. It had long been that way. She ditched her husband almost immediately upon joining PT in the ’sixties & became Jones’ mistress. Jones was too out of it to implement his plans.
I predict that oneday a movie will be made of Jim Jones life,the story of the people’s Temple,it wil star Leonardo Dipcaprio.
The guy was a fucked up loser. And by the end of his life he was a very paranoid fucked up loser taking Red’s (Seconal) and other pills all day long.
Jim Jones exploited the fears of Blacks and confused, mixed up Marxists obsessed with White Racists – same as NOI.
As for Jones, Jack Cashill, in his book, Whats the Matter with California relates the following (p.142):
Jones recounted years later: I decided how I can demonstrate my Marxism. The thought was infiltrate the church.
He did this by recruiting hundreds of Christian Blacks, shifting their focus from Jesus to Marx all the while reinforcing their fear of White America.
You’re so full of shit.
You also have to understand racism/white supremacy in the USA & the struggle againts it to understand Jones & Peoples Temple.
You have to understand church and communisim and pastors to understand what the Temple was about. Jones, in my opinion, was psychopathic in that he lacked empathy, like a serial killer, actually more like manson. He really wanted to do good though, and probably suffered from extreme internal conflict. Western thought tends to look at a central character rather than the whole. His female inner circle had as much to do with the final White Night as Jones did, if not more.
