Popular Cable Access Network host Boyse Edwards i is a guest with Joe Rubin a Chicago area film historian to discuss exploitation film, African Americans in film, and specifically Blackploitation films like Shaft, Superfly, Carwash etc. There are sub genres of the Blacksploitation genre (of the exploitation theme) like horror (Blackula) and gangster (Black Caesar). These were popular movies at the time that remain popular as cult classics today. Boyse Edwards is African American (Black) and comes from a strong empowerment perspective. Joe Rubin is a film historian and has been featured in films and documentaries and is associated with the well known cult classic video store Odd Obsessions. Frank Avila is the host for an hourlong look into blaxploitations films with video clips, music and extensive commentary. Key Words: Boyse Edwards, Kofi Malek, CAN TV, Shaft, the Spook who sat by the door, Superfly, Boss Nigger, Exploitation films, MGM, Jackie Brown, Quentin Tarantino, Spike Lee, Eddie Murphy, Cinematic Obsessions, Joe Rubin, Porn kid joe, Odd Obsessions, Blackula, Black Caesar, Fred Williams, From Dusk to Dawn, Jackie Brown, Pam Grear, Samuel L Jackson, Football player Jim Brown, Racquel Welch

Hello Horror Fans! *No Copyright Infringement Intended – Fair Usage Act* Another vid request, This time from MyFairMunster www.youtube.com & co-suggested by DarkBreed85 www.youtube.com This video is My top 10 Slasher films. Again, very hard to choose. Some like Slumber Party Massacre & House on Sorority Row only narrowly missed out being on the list. What I’ll be doing in this video is showing you my top 10 picks, and then some other slashers I really enjoy too. Oh, and this video totalled nearly 25 minutes, so I’ve had to edit it right down. As a result, some of the titles from the end had to be omitted. For people wondering why Friday the 13th isn’t on the list – I thought about adding it, but decided that there are better examples of great slashers. Also when I compared it other films, it was derivative of some earlier releases (Black Christmas, Halloween for example), and those that were released around the same time (Sleepaway Camp, The Burning) I liked a lot more. Hope that helps explain. Also, been getting comments about Nightmare on Elm Street – I didn’t included it because I didn’t feel comfortable calling it a slasher film. Another Youtube user put it well, it’s a supernatural slasher, like Child’s Play. I didn’t want to include fringe slashers because if you make one exception, you have to make them all. Anyway, I hope you enjoy it. If anyone would like, you could make a video response. Movies: Black Christmas (1974) Halloween (1978) Sleepaway Camp (1983 …
