15th song On Youtube From Kannada Movie ”Om.. ”Om is a controversial Indian Kannada movie directed by Upendra starring Shivarajkumar. This is the first movie that exposed Bangalore’s underworld. Many movies followed suit but most looked pale copy of this classic movie. Since its first theatrical release in 1995, to this day, it is being screened in smaller cinemas, and yet continues to pull a packed crowd which has rather surprised even its makers. It was remade in Hindi as “Arjun Pandit” in 1999 and in Telugu as “Omkara.” Bollywood’s ‘98 blockbuster “Satya” has many shades of Om, including the fact that both dealt with underworld and the protagonist’s name is same: Satya. Both these movies are considered to be cult classics in their respective languages.

In addition to regular Sunday worship, Latter-days Saints also follow the biblical practice of worshipping in temples. The Church operates 125+ temples throughout the world. By comparison, there are over 17000 chapels for Sunday worship services. Latter-day Saints believe that temples are the most sacred places on earth — sanctuaries from the distractions and commotion of life. The temple is a place where the most cherished of human relationships are made eternal. Accordingly, it is only fitting and appropriate that the lives of those who worship there reflect that sacredness. Thus, unlike regular Sunday worship, to which all are invited, temple worship is set aside for Latter-day Saints who observe the basic principles of the faith. Because temples are architecturally beautiful and often prominently placed, many inquire about visiting them and are disappointed to find out that only Church members in good standing may enter. It is noteworthy, however, that the general public is invited to participate in educational tours of the interior of temples after their construction is complete but before they are officially dedicated and opened. Utopia Lost: Laura Johnston Kohl and the People’s Temple

People’s Temple member Laura Johnston Kohl was in Georgetown, Guyana buying supplies for the Jonestown settlement when 913 members of the temple committed suicide or were murdered at the behest of leader Jim Jones. She currently lives in San Marcos, Ca where she works as a teacher. She remains active in political and social causes and is Clerk of the Peace and Social Order Committee with the Quakers in La Jolla. Her book, Jonestown Survivor: An Insider’s Look, is forthcoming. This video is part of the series Faith in Action from the Media Arts Center San Diego.
