Atheism, also know as “not believing in gods” is a religion as much as “not believing in astrology” is.

waitwaitwait. I’m an agnostic. I believe that a god could exist, but that it is also possible a god doesnt exist. There are also strong atheists who believe that a god doesnt exist. BOTH me AND the person who believes in no god ARE atheists, since atheism is a lack of belief in a deity, not a non-belief. If atheism was a mindset in which people believed in NO god, THEN it could be likened to a religion (despite a basis of perceptual substance and reasoning)

Sure atheism is a religion, if not being religious means your religious… use a dictionary. The court decisions were to allow equal rights to atheist. Religious people were receiving benefits because of religion and atheist were not.
@ReverendLondo that god does not exist, all christians share the same thing as all atheists share the same ideology! Why do you make it more complicated! We are on both opposite sides but we both have religious organizations sharing the same idea with our fellows, other christians or other atheists. Our believe makes us different but the foundemental of pursuing our believes and fighting for it, is the same!

If you have a strong believe and you create an organization and fight for your belive actively, this organization is considered as a cult a religion! You are standing by your believe and supporting your religion/cult even if this believe includes the none existence of god but it is stil a strong believe which they are fighting for actively in todays society. Their organization also includes official members!
